If you fancy a bit of the outdoors before the fun starts, Gisborne has loads of scenic walks, beaches to lie about on or country pubs to pub crawl back into the city ready for the night ahead.
Lots of Motels are available close to the party action if you need to sleep, however staying up until the sunrise is the thing to do in Gisborne, on the beach with that last can of beer.
