Wellington,  the windy city is also the capital of NZ and capital for full on parties, with its stunning harbour and surrounding hills all major roads lead to Wellington.

It is the easiest of the NZ cities to explore by foot, meaning at night you can normally walk back to your hotel half sozzled. You can walk from one end to the other in under half and hour,stop off and enjoy a beer, with over 300 cafes and restaurants available going hungry will not be a problem on this trip.
