Caving

Caving in New Zealand is also known as Spelunking and there are loads of caves to explore making it one of the best places in the world to do it. Caving is done both in the North and South Island, the most well known caving site in the North is the Waitomo caves and in the South along the West Coast.

Caves can be explored a number of ways, you can easily float through or take on some of the more challenging caves where you need to abseil in. The deepest cave in New Zealand is 180 metres straight down so dont slip when looking in, definitely an event to get the pulse racing.
